How Can You Get Rid Of Scale Obsession?
The stress that comes from gaining weight makes the person get on the scale constantly during a day to make sure that they haven’t gained any weight. The big crisis starts if they witness a small change in their weight number, even if it’s only an additional 100 gram. It is considered a huge problem in this case.
Scale obsession might take a lead in our lives, destroy our happiness and enjoyment in the slightest things considering the worry we are putting on ourselves because of this number. However, should we spend all our time thinking about this scale number? Should we really be sad in case it turned out that we have gained weight on the scale?
Good news: The scale isn’t that accurate!
The scale isn’t the parameter that defines if our body is being healthy and weighing ourselves multiple times per day doesn’t help us determine whether a real change is happening or not.
The human body is made up of 60% water that’s why the weight is open to fluctuate anytime of the day. In addition to that, in some cases, the muscle mass of the body would increase and the fat mass would decrease which eventually leads to an increase in the total weight but the change in the shape of the body would be obvious; That’s why in order to spot the change it’s important to take measurements of your body.
What should you do?
The most important thing is attaining self confidence and body love because the primary obsession of going to the scale comes from the lack of confidence in our body and the belief that the skinnier we look, the more confident we’ll become. Unfortunately, this belief is wrong because we are the ones giving our body confidence and not a tiny steel machine!
Regarding the best way to get on the scale:
You can get on the scale and weigh yourself one time per week or one time per two weeks and it’s preferred to always do it at the same time while wearing the same clothes.
